News from the president: Block of the Month: I neglected to tell you that you will be making two blocks – one predominantly blue for a boy and one predominantly pink/peach for a girl. No one will win these blocks as they will all be made into quilts for at risk infants. Let’s help Paula with this project for the hospital. By the way, there were no directions left at the end of the meeting so, Paula, would you run more to take to Flying Geese to go with the fabric that will be there tomorrow.
For those not at the meeting we are short on masculine quilts and are asking everyone to help out with service quilts. Please make some ½ square blocks starting with:
1 6” square of light fabric
1 6” square of dark masculine fabric
Place them right sides together, draw a line from one corner to the other and sew ¼” away from the line on either side. Cut on the drawn line and press toward the dark fabric. When cut apart, you will have two (2) ½ square blocks. Please trim them to 5”. Bring them to the all-day sew on November 21st or drop them off at Flying Geese prior to November 21st so we can get some quilt tops put together. Also, if you wish, the Guild could use some Turning Twenty, Rail Fences, or whatever you can put together in masculine prints.
There will be a board meeting on Thursday, 11-12-09 at the Library at 5:00 PM. There is no agenda currently – Ilva asked for the meeting so attend if you can.
